  • Improve Community :: Grants :: Cancer Care

In 2007-08 the HSA Foundation on behalf of the Stanislaus Family Medicine Residency Program was awarded a grant from the California Department of Justice, Antitrust Law Section from litigation settlement funds to benefit Californians diagnosed with cancer or their families. The funding helped build the capacity of the Stanislaus Family Medicine Residency Program 27 physicians by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and clinical experiences to provide more compassionate, appropriate care to cancer victims. The Resident Physicians helped with coordination of care to over 300 low-income, medically underserved Stanislaus County cancer patients and their families. The funding also helped with the purchase of infusion pumps, vital sign monitors, pulse oximeter and educational material.
