
Tamara Miller has earned a Health Science B.S. from CSU Fresno and has completed graduate coursework at University of the Pacific.
Her teaching career began at Grace M. Davis High School in 1989 and has included Chair of the Health Science Department (1995 - 2002), Health Careers Academy Director (1995 - Present), and Co-Chair of Health Science Department (2007 - Present).
Her professional achievements include Success with a Grant-Funded Program. In 1992, she wrote the grant for a California State Partnership Academy. Through this grant, the Grace M. Davis Health Careers Academy was fully funded with $81,000 by 1995. With 225 students, the Academy is now in its twelfth year. To date, approximately 350 students have graduated from the Academy. She has Developed integrated curricula for English, science and social science for 9th-12th grade Academy classes and helped develop and write curriculum for both Medical Science 1 and Medical Science 2 classes. During her tenure as the Academy Director, she has articulated two classes with Modesto Junior College (Medical Science 1 and Anatomy and Physiology), allowing our high-school students to receive college credit for their Academy courses. Furthermore, she has initiated and continues to maintain industry-education partnerships that enable students to engage in workplace learning through job shadowing, a mentor program, and the Senior Practicum with Memorial Medical Center (MMC), in which MMC provides classes and hands-on experience for students at their facility.
Mrs. Miller is married to Dennis Miller, a General Dentist . They enjoy travel and golf.
