Board Biography

Judy Fisher photoJudy Fisher Has earned degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University Education B.S.
and University of Arizona Education Masters.

Her career started as a One Language Specialist working with low income students and families in Richmond VA, she worked for the Department of Defense Overseas Teacher as an elementary school teacher in Misawa, Japan & Clark AB, PI for two years, she continued her career in the states as a Reading Instructor working with low income, ESL students and families in Tucson AZ and then at Modesto Junior College. Today, Judy is the owner and operator of Fisher Group an educational consulting firm working on workforce development in the California Central Region, Modesto, for the past 10 years.

Her Board and Committee activism includes:

Enslen School Site Committee Member (1985-1995), Modesto Jr. College Accreditation Committee Member (1980's), Children's Crisis Center Fundraising Committee Member (1985-1988), Modesto City Schools High School Bond Committee Member (1989-90), Modesto City Schools, High School Boundary Committee Member (1991-93), Family Connections Adoption Agency Board Member and Past President 1988-1996, Stanislaus Literacy Center Board Member, Past President and Fundraising Chair (1994-Present), Catholic Social Service Guild Member (1990- present), United Way , Families Committee (2002-2005), Health Service Agency Foundation Board Member and President (2003 - present), and After School Coalition of Stanislaus County Past Chair and current Executive Board Member (2004-Present).

Mrs. Fisher is married to Tim Fisher, Energy Projects Coordinator for The Great Valley Center, and has four children; Katy (Skjerping), Jenie, Matt and Pete.
